On January 20, 2009, the new PEP Archive A1v8 was released.   To PEP Archive subscribers, this means you can now read the full text of most PEP material through 2006 (the 2006 content from the Journal of Analytical Psychology will become available as part of PEP Archive later this year).   Newer (current) content is still included in all searches, and you have access to the abstract or part of the content from the first page of current content articles.   See Accessing Current Content for more info on access to newer articles from all the sources.

• Global – Per bug report #1237; fixed about 151 articles where spaces had been added in the middle of words during rekeying.
• IFP.014 – Fixed author last name per bug report #1221 (three articles)
• SGS.007 – Fixed data error impacting the TOC section headings for this volume
• Note: Other very minor fixes applied but not listed here.

It’s been a long time since the last update, but we’ve been very busy getting the next version of PEP Archive 1 ready!   As of last week, we’ve rolled out Archive 1v7 to the PEP-Web site.   With the rollout comes significant updates to the PEP-Web site, and to the data.   In fact, quite a lot of new data has been added, and we’ve also been doing any needed corrections to the current A1v6 data (these are corrections for issues that have arisen in the conversion of the data to electronic form, not corrections to the original source material).

The PEP Archive 1 Version 7 (1871-2005) contains the complete FULL TEXT of 26 premier journals in psychoanalysis, 56 classic psychoanalytic books, and all 24 volumes of The Standard Edition of the Complete Psychological Works of Sigmund Freud. The articles span 120 publication years and contain the full text of articles whose source ranges from 1871 though 2005. There are over 55,000 articles (with over 190 million words) and 6,300 figures and illustrations that originally resided on more than 930 volumes with a total of over 457,000 printed pages. In hard copy, the Archive represents a stack of paper more than 150 feet high and weighing over two tons.

As part of the A1v6 to A1v7 update, the full-text of articles for all journals through 2005 is available to subscribers.  In addition, we added the full content of 6 new journals and 26 books!
